This website is run by Bold Donut Limited, registered in Ireland with company number: 732365 and at the address: Office 2, 12A Lower Main Street, Lucan, Dublin, Ireland, K78X5P8.
The website consists of two main parts:
- A simple responsive HTML landing page with a call to action (CTA) button, images, text, contact details, additional pages containing the privacy policy, and the accessibility policy. Referred to collectively as the “landing page” below.
- A webpage, linked from the CTA button on the landing page, that contains a full screen digital interactive game which uses WebGL to render the UI and graphics dynamically. Referred to as the “interactive digital game” below.
We are committed to making this website as accessible as possible, including working towards full WCAG 2.2 AA compliance. Currently this website is partially compliant with the WCAG 2.2 AA standard with exemptions (for details see the non-accessible content section). In addition, the interactive digital game follows the majority of the relevant Game Accessibility Guidelines which is an established voluntary accessibility standard in the video game industry.

Compliance status
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard, due to the exemptions listed below. These exceptions relate to the digital interactive game section only (“setu-waste-game.bolddonutplay.com/game.html”):
Current exemptions with the WCAG 2.2 AA Standard (see non-accessible content section for details):
- 1.3.1 Info and Relationships
- 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence
- 2.1.1 Keyboard
- 2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap

- 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured
- 2.5.1 Pointer Gestures
- 2.5.2 Pointer Cancellation
- 2.5.3 Label in Name
- 2.5.7 Dragging Movements
- 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value
- 4.1.3 Status Messages
Based on our assessment, the interactive game section currently meets 44 out of 55 of the WCAG 2.2 AA criteria (80%).
We will make all possible efforts to make our website and the digital interactive game as accessible as possible and make continuous improvements with the aim of being maximally compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA as well as other relevant standards. We have taken the following two actions to mitigate the current accessibility issues with the digital interactive Game Section:
- We have applied, and continue to apply with best efforts and where relevant, the WCAG 2.2 AA standard to the interactive game section
- To meet accessibility standards that are specific to interactive games we have followed an established Game Industry standard: The Game Accessibility Guidelines. We have implemented most relevant guidelines (100% coverage of basic guidelines and 92% coverage of Intermediate guidelines). You can review the guidelines here.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Disproportionate burden
Current Disproportionate burden claims:
- 1.3.1 Info and Relationships. Reason: The web game technology we use (WebGL) does not use standard HTML tags which can indicate logical structure although we do follow good design practices.
- 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence. Reason: The web game technology we use (WebGL) does not use standard HTML tags which can indicate logical structure although we do follow good design practices.
- 2.1.1 Keyboard. Reason: The nature of the game itself does not lend itself to keyboard as an input.
- 2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap. Reason: The nature of the game itself does not lend itself to keyboard as an input.
- 2.4.7 Focus Visible. Reason: The nature of the game itself does not lend itself to keyboard as an input.
- 2.4.11 Focus Not Obscured. Reason: The nature of the game itself does not lend itself to keyboard as an input.
- 2.5.1 Pointer Gestures. Reason: The game requires path-based gestures and would require a significant redesign to avoid it.
- 2.5.2 Pointer Cancellation. Reason: Cannot currently be operated by a single pointer and would require a significant redesign to enable this.
- 2.5.3 Label in Name. Reason: The web game technology we use (WebGL) does not use standard HTML tags which can indicate logical structure although we do follow good design practices.
- 2.5.7 Dragging Movements. Reason: The game requires dragging and holding gestures and would require a significant redesign to avoid it.
- 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value. Reason: The web game technology we use (WebGL) does not use standard HTML tags which can indicate logical structure although we do follow good design practices.
- 4.1.3 Status Messages. Reason: The web game technology we use (WebGL) does not use standard HTML tags or Screen Reader compatible statuses to our knowledge.
